Our New Turret Punch Workhorse: Muratec M3058TG
Ameritex Machine & Fabrication believes that investing in the right technology is how we make sourcing metal parts the easiest part of your day.
Our newest addition—the Muratec M3058TG servo-driven turret punch press expands what we can do in a single setup: high-speed punching, precision forming, and integrated post-processes like tapping, marking, and deburring. The result: shorter lead times, tighter repeatability, and lower total part cost for your sheet metal parts.
Why this machine? Why now?
Unlike traditional hydraulic drives, Muratec’s servo ram mechanism delivers high hit rates with low noise and precise ram control. The platform is built for stability with its 30.6 metric tons of punching capacity, keeping hole quality and tool life consistent even when you’re pushing throughput. We can process up to a 5′ × 8′ (1525 × 2500 mm) sheet, with typical accuracy around ±0.1 mm. Ideal for production panels and precision brackets.
Benefits you’ll see on your parts
- One-and-done operations. Beyond punching, the M3058TG supports tapping, forming, marking, and deburring—so louvers, embosses, countersinks, and threads can be added in-process. That slashes handwork and secondary operations.
- Speed without compromise. With punch rates up to ~510 hits/min (25 mm pitch, 7 mm stroke) and turret options up to 46 stations, we can run complex nests efficiently while maintaining quality.
- Eco-smart footprint. The press draws energy primarily during punching, cutting idle consumption and supporting sustainability goals without sacrificing throughput.
Best-fit applications
Choose turret punching when your flat pattern needs repeatable holes plus 3D features in the same cycle. Great examples: electrical enclosures, control panels, chassis, backplates, ventilation panels with louvers/perf, mounting brackets, HVAC and equipment covers, and OEM sheet-metal subassemblies that benefit from integrated tapping and forming. For high hole counts or patterns, turret punching often outpaces laser cutting on time and cost—especially when post-ops are eliminated. (We’ll still recommend laser when geometry demands it; our engineers advise case-by-case.)
Materials & thickness sweet spots
Ameritex Machine & Fabrication’s M3058TG handles carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless, and aluminum commonly used in industrial, aerospace, power generation, automotive, healthcare & medical, data centers, architectural, and many other industries. Typical maximums are up to 6.35 mm (≈1/4″) material-dependent, with best productivity in the thin-to-medium gauge range. If you’re not sure what’s optimal for your design, our team will validate tooling and tonnage against your exact alloy and thickness before we quote.
Muratec’s platform includes an in-line punch drive, wide base, and twin Y-axis ball screws to hold accuracy on long runs and large panels. That mechanical stability helps us keep your tolerances tight and your cosmetic faces clean—key for customer-facing panels and assemblies. muratec.net
Why Ameritex is the right partner for you
Adding the M3058TG strengthens our design-to-delivery flow: laser cutting → turret punching → forming → welding → powder coat/finishing → assembly → kitting. You get a single turnkey partner, one PO, and a production plan tuned to your part’s cost, quality, and timeline. Pair that with Ameritex’s fast quote response, secure data handling, and consultative engineering, and you have a frictionless fabricator that helps you ship sooner with fewer surprises.
