Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix, quick turn, and ISO 9001 2015 certified sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support multiple assembly lines. As a rapid parts manufacturer, our company serves customers in energy, power generation, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.
Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator will oversee and implement safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. This role will involve conducting safety audits, providing training, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the facility to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees to ensure understanding and compliance with safety protocols.
- Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with management to promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to workplace safety.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
